NEW YEARS EVE!

New York is one of those places where there are infinite options as far as parties go on New Years eve. Most of which suck and you'll find yourself paying $50 for an open bar that is supposed to last three hours but shuts down after one! This is where we come in...

The Famous Friends crew is throwing a massive party at Europa which is where I will be for the majority of the night. As the title states, this party will be EPIC. I met the Famous Friends crew last new years at their second party ever which was held at The Silent Barn, it brought in over 700 people and was one of the best parties I've been to thus far in NYC, I'm expecting that statistic to skyrocket for this years extravaganza and I can't wait to experience it! With a lineup like this you're sure to be dancing all night, Kill The Noise, AC Slater, Udachi, The American Dream Team (with live ball drop!?), Bradley D and VDRK. This is the spot to be for NYE!




After the party at Europa ends, it's time to catch a cab (or bus/train if you're poor like me) to The Old Supreme Trading (I'm not sure what it's called now) which is located at 213 N. 8th St off the Bedford stop on the L train. This party is hosted by the GBH crew and runs until 10 AM!!!!. My boys Liam And Me, whom I went on a crazy tour with last year throw down some dancey synth pop tunes which I highly recommend! They will be joined with a live performance by Brooklyn's own Jupiter One (Designer Drugs remix yall!?) and a Crystal Castles DJ set! Make sure you stay late and get drunk so you can make all those suckers that have to work on New Years day jealous on the train ride home!

The Rub is one of the longest running parties in the city and it continues to kick ass! Tonight the Rub and host including Famous Friends, Meanred, and Good Peoples, are out to destroy the dance floor tonight. D-Nice is coming out to bring the B-More.

Fifteen bucks is a little steep for us broke ass kids, so if you want a free party head over to Salavas (285 Beford, BK) where The Jump Off 10 is happening. DJs Kids With Snakes, Gavin Royce and GBH’s Alex English will drop some electro tunes. None of these kids ever disappoint, so this is a definitely hit.

Holiday Parties!

Tis the time for giving! Tonight head down to Santo’s House Party for Spank Rock DJs, Andrew W.K, The Rapture and Gang Gang Dance for FREE with a toy donation. Giving is always a good thing, as is a good party. Devlin and Darko (Spank Rock DJs) are two of the best party DJs out there. They mix all your favorite electro and disco tunes with dope hip-hop, not that mainstream radio crap! Also check the Devlin and Pretty Titty mixtape from Summer 2007, it'll make ya dance where ever you are.

Tomorrow (Friday) more holiday parties are happening. First off Fools Gold is throwing down a holiday party at Twelve21 (12 West 21st Street). It’s free with an rsvp to foolsgold@epiphanymediallc.com. On Decks are DJ Premier, Cipha Sounds, The Brothers Macklovitch, Sammy Bananas and Nick Catchdubs. However this party ends at 1am, so then head over to Le Poisson Rouge for the DFA Holiday Freakout with Shit Robot, Juan Maclean, JAMES MURPHY/ Pat Mahoney, Invisible Conga People (Live) and Matt Cash. This weekend is insane…which is always a good thing! Tonight Sebastian Tellier, the most overrated musician in this scene, is in town doing his thing at La Poisson Rouge. Honestly go see to the Sebastian Tellier show, but only to see HeartsRevolution. They rock! He will probably have a nice swagger and decent performance, but just watch HR and then head down to Happy Ending (302 Broome St.) for the second edition of Steam Machine with guest DJ Alexander Technique. That should be Bananas!


Friday FAKE BLOOD! is in town doing the monthly Trouble and Bass party. Fake Blood was one of these mystery producers, however this guy is amazing. Every track he pumped out was a club banger. He gets dropped by every DJ of every genre and kills every remix he touches. With Drop the Lime and the Trouble and Bass crew supporting, you know this is going to be sick. Plus its 19+, so all you underagers can get in!

Famous Friends One Year Anniversary

Beth, Ruth, VDRK, and Bradley D are pretty much the coolest kids in this scene. They throw the best parties and bring in the best DJs. Now they are importing The Twelves, who are supposed to have one of the most innovative and amazing live DJ sets around. However, its not just the talent that they bring in that makes these guys so great, it is the crowd that they attract. It is always packed full of people and they dance like crazy! It is impossible to not have a good time at a Famous Friends Party, so make your way over to that tomorrow night and party hard.

THIS FRIDAY we are hosting UG Presents: Good Fridays. We have been looking forward to this show for a while. Klever is one of the best party DJs in the country. He chops, scratches and all out destroys vinyl in his way to creating mad dance floor frenzies. LA Riots simply kick ass, hence why MSTRKRFT took them on two tours this year. Tittsworth owns the whole break beat, chopped vocal banger genre that the world calls b-club and need we say more?

Why The Redundancy?

We want to bring emphasis on what we do. We party… All the time. We dance in basement bars to the most popular underground music. We sing songs that no one else knows the lyrics to...even if the only lyrics are just chopped vocals. We put our hands in the air like at a hip-hop show, but instead of waving them up and down they just kind of stay up there all night. This is because sometimes we do not know what else to do with our hands. We drink well drinks and cheap beer. We hate big clubs but flock to Webster Hall when they have MSTRKRFT. We are ironic.

We treat these posts as if they are highly condensed newspaper articles. We view ourselves as the "Party News." We like news about parties a heck of a lot more then news about crime. Its way sexier! If you like Dancing, Dance Music, Raves, Rave Music or generally anything that has to do with partying, you will like us. If you don't like to dance, we probably already don't like you and you have no idea who we are because you go to bed too early.

I can't answer why party is listed twice in the title and if you haven't figured it out then you probably won't read us anyway.
