Flashing Lights!
Don't we all love flashing lights? Flashing lights and RAVE! go hand in hand, so naturally we like a party called Flashing Lights. This party has been going on for some time, though for some reason I think I have only posted on it once (my bad). Toadally Krossed Out is going to be the guest PARTY! inducers. But the really cool thing about this party is that all the resident DJs are headlining material. That means there will literally be no bad mixes EVER! My favorite part about this party is that it is in a Dim Sum joint in dirty ole china-town. Its like the perfect combo for PARTY! and RAVE!
Tunez!

Buruka Son Simesta - IC19 (Toadally Crossed Out Remix)

Toys and Bass
A-Trak and Dust La Rock are putting out some super high end toy for Kid Robot. It looks really rad, but $50 is a lot for us broke-ass kids to spend. I'm sure a bunch of sub-urban kids with daddy's money will get one to show off to their friends who have Justice and MSTRKRFT on repeat all day. They will be the hot kids on the colldisack. Ok, enought cynicism. The after party falls on Trouble and Bass's monthly night at Annex (lucky us!) and Brooklyn/ Fools Gold Kingdom is going to guest DJ this thing. Kingdom has also done producing for groups like OMG! Michelle, who is our favorite lesbian R&B/Hip Hop/Crunk group out of Brooklyn. I'm sure other special guest are going to pop in as well as people getting all starry-eyed at some "electro celebs"(more cynicism). Ok, I'm a little spunky this morning. Wednesday will be rad and we will all dance the night away!
BASS tunes for ya!

Yikes! took us HOSTAGE!
Seriously pumped about this! Grum and Hostage tonight at Studio B. Last time Hostage was in town, he played down stairs at Le Royale, which was fun but not the type of party Hostage should be playing. And seeing that there are more rumors that Studio B is closing (they never stop) this could (but not likely) be your last chance to hang at this venue. Prepare for a "MEGARAVE" as Hostage tweeted back to me.
Also tonight:
Hot Pink Delorian, Sneaky Sound Systems at Webster Hall (11th btw 3rd and 4th)
The Glass at Ruff Club/ The Annex (Stanton and Orchard)
Vampire Weekend, Voxtrot at Bowery Electric (somewheres on Bowery)
Tunes
Hostage - Soundboy
Hostage- Massive
Grum - Sound Reaction
Grum - Sound Reaction (Phantoms Revenge Remix)

Frsh Squeezed
Sean MF'n Roberts and Seanie Will have come together to bring NYC/ Brooklyn a party at a Fresh new spot with Fresh new talent. Officially pRp and Penned Madness endorsed Fresh Squeezed is promised to be a winner in the Saturday night world of parties. Yes, there are other decent parties going on on Saturday night, but none really have that mix of great DJs and great crowd. So pRp decided to do something about it. Getting away from even the typical Williamsburg spots, but not in harms way like Bushwick, 507 Bar and Grill sits just off the beaten path and holds a lot of treasure inside. It has two floors, patio, food till 3 am, drink specials through out the night, rad soundsystem and rustic decor enabling the best dancing possible. Then with Solly hitting the decks (who is obviously one of our favorites here at pRp), this night should be insane! See you kids on the dancefloor!
Tunez!

Rick Ashley - Never Gonna Give You Up (Solly Remix)
Armand Van Helden - Illin N Fillin (Seanie Will Remix)

Bushwick Gets a Manicure
Yeps, Beauty Bar is making its way over to Bushwick with its second NYC Location. The 14th Street Beauty Bar is know to be pretty...well...lame. It appearntly used to be cool (before my time) and many other Beauty Bars across the nation are rad (Austin), but oh how the masses destroy good things. Its nearly impossible to have a "cool" party or club for very long before the "we think we are cool" kids start coming in and ruining it (Le Royale, Ruff Club). SO!!!! We are glad that Beauty Bar is doing the right thing by opening a second location that will actually bring in good talent and more importantly a good crowd. They are kicking it off real good with the above line up.
Tomorrow night Crooked Disco are bringing in some b-more popping acts Solly (whom we love), Philadephyinz and a live act from Old Money (who rock!). Solly just moved up to NYC and will probably be playing everywhere over the next month, but this will probably be the best chance to catch him and this is the last Crooked Disco for a while. We will probably run between this and The Jump Off at Savalas (285 Bedford) with Gavin Royce and Kids with Snakes who rock the tables as well
Grab the Solly Tracks from the posts bellow, you wont be dissapointed!

Yikes! We got Class!
Friday night Brooklyn's best is bringing in DJ Class. We love the fact that T&B brings in dope acts from every dance genre and not just BASS acts. Also B. Rich, whom we love here at pRp will be throwing down. His sets are always fun filled, bassy and energetic. Studio B is where it is at again (just like 2 years ago!). With Dave P and JDH running the show, the best acts in the world are able to get booked there in all genres (between Fixed, Discovery, Yikes! amoung others). Other good parties are Deadmau5 at Webster hall (11st St. btwn 3rd and 4th Ave), and Cobra Krames and Maggie Horn at Hope Lounge (10 Hope Street Brooklyn).
Saturday night is alright with Louis La Roche hitting Finger on the Pulse's Yikes! Louis La Roche makes and plays some of the best feel good house around. Also Justin Faust and Danger are going to be hitting it hard. Apperantly Danger is going to play a live set, so that should be especially rad. Looks like Studio B wins this weekend! Also good this Saturday is Grim at Savalas with Gavin Royce and Kids With Snakes- always a good party!, and Europa will have Disco Villians and Mike Dextro.
Tunez!
DJ Class - Tear Up Da Club (Solly Remix)
DJ Class - I'm The Shit (Kanye West)
Designer Drugs - Back Up In This (B. Rich Remix)

DUB and Break'n Teeth!
This looks super rad. Broken Teeth has grown from small bar event to now Studio at Webster. Its good to see some parties doing good. We have been watching parties switch venues and not really seem to do anything thanks to the super awesome recession. Word on the street says its almost over. I have my doubts, but who cares. Also hit up Annex (152 Orchard) on Thursday for Hits. I just saw pics from last week and It looked mad rad. Mean Red is running the upstairs while Radical Outings (Anton Glamb and Skitsnygg) are running the show downstairs. This week upstairs has Reid Speed (of L.A. scenester fame) and Jubiliee (Nightshifters). Downstairs is going to have dirty and hard music as always anything associated with Radical Outings. RSVP to www.meanredproductions.com/hits for free entry.

First an Apoligy and then Techno???
I want to first off apologize for the last post. I was not saying do not go to GBH or Girls and Boys parties. I was venting at what MSTRKRFT and The Bloody Beetroots have done lately and the fact that they have both gotten bigger for their bad music. All I am saying is that I do not want New York to turn LAish by simply going to who ever the most hyped music man is or the best marketed artist. There should be decerment in the scene. That is what I meant to say, but it came out wrong so I am sorry to both GBH and the wonderful Girls and Boys crew. Everybody on Girls and Boys is top-notch people and great at what they do (dj or photoblog, etc...)
For tonight, Famous Friends are running a new party. This is not a Famous Friends party though. This is going to be Discovery (bumm Bumm!!). This is going to be more music heady and they are going to spin techno-y and left of center stuff that never really gets played at decent spots in NYC, so this is going to be really rad. This party is not for everyone, but for those who like this music or who love good music and have never heard this music played right, this is sure fire win!
If you are not of the techno-y persausion and you just want a party you can cut loose to the typical bangers and heavy bass, then check out the Pillow-Fight After Party. This means that you need to also go to the pillow fight; more info here. They are having pRp FAVORITES Designer Drugs are playing. The rest of the kids are going to spin techno-y, left of center stuff as well. So it looks like you are just going to have to 1990's RAVE tonight. This goes on all night long and it is factory style too, so RAVE! it up!

BKLYN...WE GO HARD!!!
Yeah, we know its a name of a Jay-Z song, but its a Jay-Z song with Santogold (or is it Santigold, i'm never up to date on these minor changes that the indie kids obsess over, but I digress). This night seems like its going to be tons of fun. It will be pRp's first time to team up with Monica Sharp and Sean MF'n Roberts. Both these kids have been rocking this scene since before we were smart enough to sneak into clubs. The real reason that you should come to this is because you should NOT go to MSTRKRFT and The Bloody Beetroots. I'm a huge fan of Girls and Boys and all that are apart, but this is like a line up people who have let us down over and over again over the past couple of months. This is all hate, Dim Mak sucks and has burned everything it has touched lately. All right, enough with the bashing. Hope Lounge is going to go off. We are going to party hard and probably drink too much and probably wake up in a strange location with people we have never met before and probably wished that we drank a little less so we could remember how we go there. Ya! Thats a night!!!

Next Wave
We finally found the right name for our bi-monthly party (1st and 3rd Wednesdays) at Le Royale. This site is all about bringing the underground and the unknown to light. This party is an off-shoot of this site. Thus it should have a similar focus. We are going to bring out the best and who's who of what is happening and trendsetters in the city and the world. This week we are bringing out Ursula 1000 and GBH's Alex English to corrupt our dancefloors.

Crookers, Diplo, Switch and Famous Friends...Long Fun Night!
Just got this word in from friend Rachel Landry that Crookers, Diplo and Switch are going to be playing a secret show at Le Royale tonight. The party starts at 3AM, so its going to be an after hours party and we can't say that we are more excited. Its not often that there is legitimate after hour parties in the city, I mean they are still there if you know where to look and have the right friends. Before that we will be hitting up Club Europa where Treasure Fingers, Nick Catchdubs and own Skitsnygg are going to be dropping sets. We might not be functional tomorrow, and I have to say that I am super excited about that!!!

Unicorn Launch/Danger and Klever & LA Riots attack...again
Tonight there are two parties that are going to blow minds. The first is by Famous Friends who brought the NYC launch of the Unicorn record label from LA . The real excitment at the Famous Friend party is seeing DJ Donna Summer. His tracks are super dope and we hear he can spin like no ones business. Then on top off that all your favorite NYC DJs will be there dropping beats all night. Another dope Famous Friends Party!
After partying with Famous Friends for a while, we will be heading over to Webster where we are going to rock out with Danger, Steve from Soulwax and Afrika Bambaattaa. If you don't know who Afrika Bambaattaa is, you should be slightly ashames. Its ok, though! That is why we are here. I just got sent this dope video and it will explain everthing. So download the video from this link. Needless to say, this is an exciting night
Tomorrow we are in for treat with Klever back in town. LA Riots will bring the crowd, but it will be Klever that does the dazzling. The biggest mistake that people make in the nightlife world is thinking that a good producer makes a good DJ. Not so! Dont miss out on this guy, he will blow your mind!!
Tunes!

PARTY! RAVE! PARTY! is starting its bi-monthly party at Le Royale this Wednesday and we are pumped!!! Yes, it gets three exclamation marks. Our last party that we ran was all the way back in November, so we have been eeking to do another one for some time. We have been looking for a night and venue that would work for us for a while and Le Royale fits the bill. Conveintly located and exceptionally nice (and a decent soundsystem to boot), we will have our fill of RAVE! and PARTY!

Hostage Takes Over!
Hostage has finally made it into town! It’s about time. Nightshifters, the new label run by Jubilee and friends, picked him up and are seriously pushing him. Oh Snap is also one of the funniest rappers from the North East rapping about everything from being a fat hipster to Bill Cosby sweaters. His remixes are top-notch as well. This is kind of a weird pair to tour together due to the drastic differences in production style, but this will be a good thing because it means we get to have an actual change in style of music instead of hearing heavy bass or bangers for 6 hours straight like many of the parties are doing right now. Oh yeah, this is an official pRp party so make it out to show us some love!

No Big Deal?---DISCOTexas!!!
Moulinex & Xinobi are coming for the first time to the US! I can't pronounce their names, but I can assure you these guys are amazing. Together they started a record label called D.I.S.C.O.Texas which has put out LPs for them and personal favorite The Phantom's Revenge. The rest of the label mates can be found at the myspace. As with all No Big Deal parties, there is a remix contest. Both Skitsnygg and I have pop'd out remixes, but you can't hear them until the winner is announced. Much love to Palms Out and Finger on the Pulse for being us Rad-ness!

Plan B w/ AC and Breaking Teeth
As most of the scene knows by now, Plan B (339 E 10th St) holds some pretty insane shows on Tuesday nights. Tonight will be no different. AC Slater, DJ Haul, Blue-Jemz, The Rub DJs, Runaway and U-Tern will be holding it down. AC Slater is blowing up faster then Mtv in the 80's and we are pumped about that. There is nothing better then to have a hometown hero become an international superstar! But what that means for us in New York is that he is A) not going to play here as often and B) when he does it will be in bigger venues like Webster Hall. Time is running out to see him in the small clubs like we are used to.
Wednesday, Star Eyes of Trouble and Bass is going to bring some BASS to Broken Teeth at 87 Ludlow (at Delancy)! This party seems to be fighting for the top spot on Wednesday night and have been doing a good job. Krames played last week and Passion before that. Although, word on the street says there might be a new Wednesday night party that might rival all... (more to be told later)

A Monday Night Banger in the East Village!
Hey all, just a quick note... I throw a Monday night joint deep in the East Village called Fresh Out! Tonight we've got my boy, Boy Boy of the Chimney Climbers who absolutely destroyed the dance floor at Europa Saturday night. He is, in my opinion, one of the best DJ's on the scene right now. Look for a blow up in 2k9! Tonight's second guest DJ comes to you all the way from Australia! Gaining props from the likes of the Midnight Juggernauts, Miami Horror, and more my boy Tom, AKA C+R+Y+S+T+A+L+O+V+E is sure to drop some serious beats! I (Brian Skitsnygg) have also been crankin' out the tunes recently and have some big surprises up my sleeve! Come boogie down to 115 Ave C (between 7th and 8th) and listen the the best dance tunes you're going to find!
(and maybe if we're lucky, the culture of me will take some pictures!)

Disco!
DISCO! Kind of…. Tonight at Plum (14th between 7th and 8th) Rachel Landry and friends are hosting Disco Dancin with Lily of the Valley and Kuntrock Kidd. Hate that kids name, but he can spin pretty well. However, not expecting a lot of true disco at this party knowing the K-Kidd, as he tends to play pretty heavy. True disco is hard to come by and even DFA parties tend to end in cosmic disco or techno, which pRp is not the biggest fan of. Hopefully this party will live up to its name so we can Disco Dance!
